“One of my favorite things is access to health care with the Village being located so close to Pennock Hospital...I love the doctors there,” says Barb Brunk, Pennock Village resident since 1992. “I like to walk and there is plenty of space and park area to walk without worrying about traffic. My husband used to walk 2 miles a day and finish with a trip to the Health and Wellness Center behind our apartment. I have met some very nice people here over the years and I have really enjoyed the social events and the opportunity to meet new people. We have monthly coffees, Christmas dinner, and recently we were treated to a wine and cheese social with the lovely music the Bows and Buddies played. Anyone looking for an apartment won’t find anything cheaper that is this nice.”

“I was a realtor for many years and my friends are surprised I am renting, but I love it,” states Audrey Burdick, Pennock Village resident. “To me, I’ve looked at other apartments but there is no yard. There it would be odd to sit on a lawn chair outside, but here you have a yard, they’re very private and you can go out and enjoy your yard. A lot of people have meals delivered from the Pennock cafeteria, especially after surgery. Delivery is a very nice feature especially for those who don’t drive or get out. Pharmacy and lab draw too!”

Unlike other independent living retirement communities, Pennock Village is unique. Each two-bedroom unit has 1,055 square feet of living space with an 8 x 11 foot screened porch.


The monthly rent also includes services such as snow removal; exterior window washing; exterior painting; 24-hour building and appliance maintenance; trash removal; and lawn and shrubbery care. Water and sewer utilities, property taxes and building insurance are more items included in the monthly rent. In addition, Pennock Village's affiliation with Pennock Hospital enables residents to enjoy additional services and amenities at no extra cost!
