Requirements: Minimally requires a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) credential. Preferred background includes RHIT or RHIA through an accredited school. Knowledge of encoder systems and DRG groupers required, excellent keyboarding skills are essential. Experience should include knowledge of health care organization, use of statistics, familiarity with reimbursement issues and regulatory requirements pertaining to Health Information Management.


Responsibilities: Provides coding for Inpatient, Outpatient, Observation, as well as ancillary and Emergency Dept. hospital code and physician code (E/M code). Also able to abstract codes as necessary. Understands and supports activities relative to the Compliance Program. Reports to Health Information Management Supervisor.

 

Emergency Department Tech 6:00 pm-2:30 am

Requirements: Minimally required: High school diploma, EMT license, one or more years experience with ACLS certification or ability to obtain within six months of hire. Also requires ability to stand/walk for long periods and work in a sometimes unpredictable environment. Preferred: Paramedic or military corpsman training.


Responsibilities: Greet incoming ED patients, obtaining patient information including reason for visit, targeted medical and surgical history and assigning ESI triage level. Perform patient care under the supervision of an RN, wound care, dressing changes, splinting, assisting with procedures.

 

Laboratory Assistant/Phlebotomist

Requirements: High school diploma required. Strong customer service skills needed. Highly prefer Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant certification. Strongly prefer previous phlebotomy experience.


Responsibilities: Collection of blood specimens on patients of all ages, both inpatient and outpatient. Performs EKGs, Lab/Radiology order entry, processing of specimens for reference laboratories.

Responsibilities: Performs a variety of routine and/or complex tests on clinical specimens in laboratory areas including blood bank, serology, microbiology, hematology, and chemistry. Must have ability to work collaboratively with other departments.

Requirements: Graduate of a College or School of Pharmacy accredited by the ACPE with a minimum of a Bachelors degree, and current Michigan pharmaicst and controlled substance license in good standing are required. Also need minimum of two to four years of retail pharmacy experience.


Responsibilities: The pharmacist fills prescriptions, provides supervision for the technician staff, places medication orders, provides patient counseling, interacts with physicians and other health care professionals, seeks opportunities to add service lines, provides community education.
