Hospice

"You matter because of who you are. You matter to the last moment of your life, and we will do all we can , not only to help you die peacefully, but also to live until you die."
--Dame Cicely Saunders
Pennock Hospice offers a comprehensive program of personal, compassionate, quality care to patients and families facing a life threatening illness. Pennock provides personalized services and a caring community so that patients and families can attain the necessary preparation for those who have a limited life expectancy.
Pennock Hospice is a compassionate approach to care whose goal is to embrace people into our Pennock family, help people with serious illness live life fully, maintain their dignity and keep control over their lives. In medieval times, Hospices were known as inns of rest, which "lodged, cherished and refreshed" the Crusader, the sick and the dying. Today, Pennock Hospice carries on this theme by providing medical care, emotional, and spiritual support to people and their families facing life-limiting illness in homes, our hospital, adult facilities, nursing homes, group homes and personal area residents. Pennock Hospice is available to any one with an illness whose life expectancy is measured in months, rather than years.
Why Pennock Hospice?
Because Pennock Hospice Cares. We understand the unique physical, emotional, spiritual, social, and financial needs that occur during the final phases of life-limiting illness. We provide experienced, skilled specialists who give needed help and support during this difficult time, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In addition, we embrace each patient as if they were one of our own family members, so we know the importance of working with attending physicians and familes to develop personal care which meets the patient/family needs and wishes concerning treatment and lifestyle.
In addition to our Pennock Hospice nursing staff, we also partner with our Pennock Homecare to provide home health aides, and our Pennock Hospital Chaplains, to provide direct spiritual support to both patients and families.
