Pennock Hospital was honored by the National Kidney Foundation of Michigan (NKFM), in 2010, for the Pennock Health Services Diabetes Self-Management Program, which implemented a five-year, intervention designed to motivate awareness and compliance of diabetic patients receiving a micro albuminuria test. The test plays an important role in renal protection, especially for patients who have diabetes, the number one risk factor for chronic kidney disease.
